40 Years of Protein Purification Expertise

We emerged as a pioneer in the purification of native human and animal proteins, setting standards for quality and reproducibility that continue to influence the industry and guide our work today.

As demand grew, we built lasting partnerships with distributors across Europe, Asia, and North America. For nearly two decades, we’ve collaborated with global life sciences distributors, including MilliporeSigma and VWR, as well as leading IVD companies like Roche and Randox, and cell culture media manufacturers, including ThermoFisher and STEMCELL Technologies.

We relocated to a purpose-built 11,000 sq. ft. wet lab facility on the corner of Olympic and Trans Tech Drives, just 12 minutes from the UGA campus. Still proudly headquartered in Athens, GA, our manufacturing operations remain 100% U.S.-based.

We received the Georgia Department of Economic Development’s GLOBE (Georgia Launching Opportunities by Exporting) Award, recognizing our success in expanding into international markets and our continued commitment to global growth.

We launched a structured internship program to train the next generation of protein technicians and chemists, strengthening our local bioscience talent pipeline. Partnering with UGA, Athens Tech, Gwinnett Tech, and the Athens Community Career Academy, we’re helping students gain hands-on experience and build lasting careers in science.

We reintroduced ourselves as Athens Bioscience, continuing the legacy of Athens Research & Technology. Our new name reflects who we’ve become—a global bioscience partner dedicated to advancing discovery through quality, innovation, and collaboration.
